WMQ & History Coop Subscription Information
Dear WMQ Subscriber:
Starting with the release of the April 2003 issue of the WMQ by the History Coop, all issues on the History Coop site will be available only to current subscribers, a process referred to as “gating.” Individuals will have to supply certain information, by creating a personal account, to get through the “gate”. If you are a current subscriber to the JAH or AHR and use the History Coop for these journals, you will be familiar with this process. For those individuals who are not familiar with the process, I have included instructions that will assist you. You will have to create a personal account, which includes your full name, professional title, affiliation, email, a password you create, the journal name, and your subscription ID number. The number is located on the mailing label of the journal. Once you have established your personal account, you will need to log in using your email address and your password to gain access or pass through the gate. If you have access to the History Coop through your institution and it is a current WMQ subscriber, you will not have to log in; the connection will be automatic.
If you have not yet visited the History Coop, why not take a look at it now? There are many useful tools available. One is search capacity: you can search the current contents of the History Coop and the entire contents of JSTOR (which consists of the complete first, second, and third series of the WMQ). Another useful aspect of the on-line version of the WMQ is linkage—direct links to any website mentioned in the text and links to earlier issues of the WMQ that are cited in the contents of the journal. We will be expanding these tools as time progresses and ideas start to expand. Currently, there are color images, additional appendix information, and even audio extras (April 2003) available through the History Coop version of the WMQ.

Both of these procedures are completed once; for future visits you will only need to log in (email and password).
To set up a personal account
1. Go to http://www.historycoop.org/adduser.php
2. The first form will contain basic information. Once you submit that
form, there will be an additional page for you to select the journal
and to enter your Subscription ID (shown on your address label).
If you already have an existing History Coop account, you will need to add the WMQ as one of your journals:
1. Go to http: http://www.historycoop.org/login.html to log in
2. Once logged in you will be directed to http://www.historycoop.org/addjournal.html
3. Select the journal (WMQ) and enter your last name and your subscription ID (from your address label).
