Job Description: Editorial Coordinator – William and Mary Quarterly
Position Summary
The Editorial Coordinator is responsible for the basic management of the publication processes for the William and Mary Quarterly.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong writing and proofreading skills
- Strong organizational skills; reliability; detail-oriented
Preferred Qualifications
- Background in history, especially Early American studies
Job Duties
- Intake of submitted manuscripts and peer reviewer reports for the William and Mary Quarterly. Tasks include receiving manuscripts from authors, replying to authors, sharing to Editor, updating workflow and cloud storage websites, managing correspondence between Editor and authors and peer reviewers at each stage of the review process. (75%)
- Management of copyright submissions for journal through the offices at the Library of Congress. Management of copyright records and permission requests. (15%)
- Producing and disseminating publication reports, including collecting and analyzing information on submitted and reviewed manuscripts and facilitating communication with the Editorial Board. (5%)
- Administrative support for Editors as needed, including digital filing of manuscripts, reviews, and publication production information as well as subscription information. (5%)
Contract Terms
This is a part-time position, 20 hours per week, at $20 per hour, with the option to WORK REMOTELY.
