“Law and Legal Culture in Early America”
October 18, 2019, 9:00 am - 7:00 pm EDT
This one-day symposium will close with a public-facing discussion of rare books of early American jurisprudence and legal training. Held in conjunction with an exhibit of rare books from the collection of Sid Lapidus titled “British Antecedents: American Liberties?” the symposium and discussion will focus on the foundation of some of the earliest laws in Virginia. A reception will follow the afternoon talk. Registration and further details will be available in September on this website.
