We take this opportunity to thank Julia Gaffield for the extraordinary leadership she demonstrated during her three-year term at the helm of the WMQ. The first woman and the first Caribbeanist to lead the journal, Gaffield excelled in helping scholars gain a sharper perspective on their work and the conversations they aim to shape. The journal thrived on her watch. Like so many members of Vast Early America, we are in her debt.
