Transcribathon!

Hands-on History Through Handwriting

Join us Saturday, March 23, in the Ford Classroom, lower level of Swem Library for our first Transcribathon!

Julie Fisher (American Philosophical Society and consulting editor on the Northeast Native Portal – formerly the Yale Indian Papers Project) will help us decode and transcribe 17th century documents via the Folger Institute’s DROMIO site.

No experience is necessary.

Drop in at any time from 11:00-4:00. Come for just an hour and transcribe one letter, or spend a longer time and compete in one of the two contests we will hold. Lunch and snacks will be available to all. Contests—with prizes!—will be held at 1:00 and 3:00.
