Virginia Consortium of Early Americanists Annual Meeting
January 27, 2018
University of Richmond
We are delighted to announce that the Virginia Consortium of Early Americanists (VCEA) will hold its annual meeting on January 27, 2018. Prof. Rosemarie Zagarri of George Mason University is this year's Program Chair, and our good friends at the University of Richmond will serve as hosts for what promises to be an exciting day of conversation and scholarship. We invite all graduate students and scholars of Early American history in Virginia to submit proposals and/or to attend the conference. Please share this announcement.
We anticipate a full day of presentations and networking opportunities. We especially encourage participation by graduate students and early career scholars. The VCEA is an excellent way to receive meaningful feedback on your work in a relaxed environment and establish relationships for future collaborations.
We encourage proposals for traditional conference papers, lightning round talks, and a pre-circulated paper workshop.
- Conference Papers: Papers should be 8-10 pages in length and take no more than 20 minutes to deliver.
- Lightning Round Talks: Presentations should last 3-5 minutes.
- Pre-Circulated Paper Workshop: Papers should be 5-7 pages in length and will be pre-circulated amongst workshop participants two weeks ahead of time. Senior scholars are encouraged to volunteer as participants to read papers and offer feedback.
Please upload a one paragraph proposal along with a one-page C.V. by December 1st, 2017. Any questions can be directed to Holly White (firstname.lastname@example.org).
