Review Policy

The William and Mary Quarterly reviews to the extent that space permits scholarly works that focus on the history and culture of the British North American colonies including the West Indies and the history of Native Americans; British imperial policy and the history of New France and Canada through the American Revolution; the history of European discoveries in North America; the history of slavery and the Atlantic slave trade; and the history of the Spanish borderlands and the United States through the Antebellum period. We include when possible museum exhibits, movies, television programs, and website content relating to these areas that are scholarly in intent; works on the history and culture of imperial European countries that may have had influence in their North American empires; and works in any area that may offer interpretive insights into the listed topics. Persons wishing to review should submit copies of their CVs; suggestions for books of particular note are welcome. The Quarterly does not publish unsolicited reviews.
