New Faces and Musical Chairs at the Institute

The Omohundro Institute happily welcomed Robert G. Parkinson to Williamsburg this summer. Appointed the Institute/NEH Fellow in 2006, Rob elected to postpone taking up the fellowship until July 2007. His dissertation,“Enemies of the People: The Revolutionary War and Race in the New American Nation,” investigates the relationship among war, race, and the formation of nationhood. We are already enjoying the pleasure of his company and look forward to the insights that will emerge as he develops his project during the next two years.

We are also extremely pleased to welcome back Kelly Crawford, who previously served in the capacity of WMQ Office Assistant, as WMQ’s new Office Manager. Kim Foley, who until now has worn both the Office Manager and IT guru hats, has taken the position of full-time Webmaster, which, we hope, will give her more time to enhance the Institute’s online presence. Filling the role of Office Assistant is new arrival Lauredan Sawyer, and it is already hard to remember how we ever managed without her.
