Virginia Consortium of Early Americanists Annual Meeting

We are pleased to announce the fourth annual meeting of the Virginia Consortium of Early Americanists. This year’s meeting will be held January 27th, 2018, at the University of Richmond, Jepson Alumni Center, 49 Crenshaw Way, Richmond, VA 23173 (On site parking is free and readily available.)

Scholars from the OIEAHC, William and Mary Quarterly, University of Virginia, Virginia Commonwealth University, University of Richmond, William & Mary, George Mason University, Colonial Williamsburg Foundation, University of Rhode Island, James Madison University, and University of Mary Washington will all participate.

This year we invite undergraduate students interested in the study of Early American history as well as early graduate students to join us before the official start of the conference, from 9:30 a.m.-11:00 a.m., for a special opportunity to hear from Liz Covart of the OI’s Ben Franklin’s World and “Doing History: To The Revolution! Podcast series as well as Emily Swafford, Manager of Academic Affairs at the American Historical Association, about jobs in history.

VCEA officially begins at 11:00 a.m.; this year we have a combination of traditional panel sessions and lightning round talks as well as themed lunch tables meant to stimulate conversation.

Registration for VCEA opens on Friday, January 12th and closes Monday, January 22nd.
