Getting There

By Air

Salt Lake City International Airport is located approximately ten miles west of the University of Utah campus. From the airport, the campus is easily accessible by bus and commuter rail (TRAX). Please visit the Web site of the Utah Transit Authority (UTA) at www.rideuta.com for more details about Salt Lake City’s public transportation system. A limited taxi service is also available, as are all major rental car agencies. Car rental facilities are located on the ground floor of the short-term parking garage directly across from the terminal buildings. Visit the airport’s Web site at www.slcairport.com for more information.

The Route 550 UTA bus leaves the airport for Salt Lake Central Station/Downtown every thirty minutes during the day and every sixty minutes after 7:00 p.m. The one-way fare is $1.60. Bus stops are located in the parking structure between Terminal One and Terminal Two. Limited service is available on weekends and holidays. At Central Station, you can transfer to the light rail service (TRAX), which will take you directly to the university’s campus. Take the University Line to the U. South Campus stop (1790 East South Campus Drive) or the Fort Douglas stop (200 South Wasatch Drive). The one-way fare is $2.25, round-trip tickets (TRAX only) are available for $4.50, and a day pass can be purchased for $5.50. A TRAX line map is available at www.rideuta.com/ridinguta/routeMapImage.aspx?abbreviation=702&signup=79
